According to an article by Kim Souza posted today at NWAOnline.com, Coldwell Banker Faucette Real Estate and Harris McHaney Realtors® signed a merger agreement.
The resulting company — Coldwell Banker Harris McHaney & Faucette — will be the largest real estate company in northwest Arkansas with 260 agents in six offices in Benton and Washington counties, the article states.
In other words, the trend toward consolidation among real estate companies in Arkansas (and nationally, for that matter) continues.
In June, Benton’s Phillips-Moudy-Duke Real Estate and Bryant’s Penfield Real Estate merged and formed Baxley-Penfield-Moudy Realtors. The new company had, at the time, about 50 Realtors® in two offices in Saline County.
In December, officials with the Griffin Company and Weichert Realtors®- Clark, Long & Associates announced the two companies had merged, thus forming Weichert Realtors – The Griffin Company — a company with 64 Realtors® in northwest Arkansas.
It seems that a good number of large real estate offices have merged and more than a few independent offices have joined franchises over the past couple of years. It’s safe to say a trend has emerged.

Ethan, I think that you hit the nail on the head when you talk about RE offices merging. I think that we will start seeing more of this across the national platform.
Danny, I think you’re probably right — we’ve probably not seen the last major merger this year in Arkansas or anywhere else…
