Fear Factor: What’s Your Role?
Over the last year, I have read a ton of media that fuels the fire in this economic crisis. The fear factor is at one of it’s highest points since I can remember. It is being driven higher and higher daily by media as they continually drive home to customers that the markets are failing. The big question that I have for you is a simple one really. “What role do you take on” in this media frenzy. Are you a person that is always spreading the doom and gloom, or are you someone that realizes that for America to come out of this crisis, people have to get past the fear factor.
Getting past the fear factor is not an easy step when all you ever hear in the media is how bad the economy is and what company just laid off how many more employees. Bottom line to it all, that people are not getting, is this has a chain reaction effect. At this point, the fear is effecting the physical business where people go to shop. The problem that people do not see is that it soon will spread into the virtual world unless we all take a positive role is minimizing the fear factor.
This was one of the first goals of PREP when we brought this site online. We are dedicated to bringing out the positives that are happening here in the economic world. We mostly focus on the Real Estate and Mortgage Industries, but we look beyond those subjects as well. We have agreed that an active role in promoting the positive side will pay off in the long run much better than fueling the fear factor that is already raging through our beloved country.
Just the other day, I saw a great commercial from Charles Schwab. I really think that it says it all. Please take a moment to see it.
