    @ Geoff- Thanks for reading and commenting. I completely agree that it can be a tough sale. Because of this I think that sales should be thought of as relationship building rather than selling, regardless of the medium by which sales are made. It might seem like this is splitting hairs but the mindset can have a direct and dramatic impact on how someone else perceives both you and your product or service. If you treat your site’s visitors as someone you are getting to know and becoming friendly with, that usually is easy to pick up on. At the same time if you treat your site’s visitors as customers and not necessarily someone you care about, this can also be easily be picked up on. I think most people don’t want to be sold something but rather they want to desire or want something and feel like they have made the decision to buy or otherwise acquire that product or service. Being an authority in your area is vital to sales. I definitely prefer demonstrating your authoritative knowledge as a friend rather than as a salesperson. I think there is a definite difference that will be reflected in productivity.

    @ Louis – I believe it is better to curtail further PR bleed to other ancillary pages sooner rather than later. This will help to stop the bleed while increasing the PR where you most want it.

I definitely weed out comments that appear to only be made for a backlink as I view these as spam and not contributing to the conversation. Good of you to take the time to change the anchor text of commentors to one you think they would prefer.

    @Geoff – Thanks so much for reading and your kind words. I think that it is important to use the tools that a particular webmaster has given, i.e. CommentLuv, Keyword Love, etc. I further think that it is quite presumptuous for a commentor, a.k.a. site visitor, to try to use coding to try to force types of linking that a webmaster has not approved. This network for example does not use Keyword Love ‘at this point’ and as all comments are moderated, I would either not approve a comment that tried to use keyword linking or I would edit to remove the link. This is not meant to imply that Keyword Love is a bad (or good) tool but that it is simply not used on this network at this time.
