I went to High School in Hammond, IN even though I lived on Chicago’s South Side, Bishop Noll Institute had

a great reputation for being a College Prep School and was only 20 minutes by Car from Home !

Since Hammond is so Close to The Illinois State Line (Border City) many people choose to live there even if

they work in Chicago-land. Commute is feasible by Major Toll roads/Expressways or South Shore Train !

The City of Hammond has a

College Bound Scholarship Program for Hammond

residents in which children of Homeowners can apply for

money that the city grants to qualified students that

aides with their childrens tuition costs!

There are satellite Campuses in Hammond for Collegiate education – I’ve attended the conveniently located

Purdue Calumet in the past for classes !

Our Favorite place for Jumbo Fried Shrimp in all of

NW Indiana is Bob’s Shrimp. It was around way back

when I was in High School & still offers HUGE delicious

shrimp to go by the pound!

Affordable Housing still exists in Hammond & nearby Hessville as well !

Recently we Listed an Affordable Ranch Home in Merrillville, IN

On the way to the listing appointment, we were reminded of many fun times as we passed the Radisson Star Plaza

Hotel AND THEATRE

Not only do they have a Great Irish Pub with good ol food & drink, but we’ve seen funny comedy acts, great concerts and even had our youngest daughters sleepover Birthday Party in Winter at the Hotel a few years back because of their incredible Tropical Indoor Pool & Playground!!!

Because NORTHWEST INDIANA is conveniently located outside of the Major metropolis of Chicago with easy expressway or Toll-road Access as well as South Shore Train for commute….it has become somewhat of a suburb of Chicago-land.

With Lots of Great Shopping Malls and Great City Parks & Services, the Town of Merrillville is worth careful consideration for those looking to relocate to NW Indiana.

Our oldest daughter went to ANDREAN HIGH SCHOOL in Merrillville and had a great time going downstate her senior year for the State Basketball finals and cheering in the CONSECO FIELD house for her TEAM !!!

After the Listing, we stopped at a favorite eatery for a Chicago Style Beef Sandwich at Indiana prices

Yes, The Town of Merrillville, in LAKE COUNTY,

Northwest Indiana has many Fun Options besides these mentioned here- come on down for a visit and experience it for yourself…….
