This week some of our Experienced REALTORS of F.C.Tucker 1st Team Real Estate got together for several events!

One was Virtual REBar Camp – some attended online from the comfort of their home, while a few of us went to our local Board of REALTORS in Merrillville, IN ( GNIAR ) and watched the informative break out sessions hosted there!

The information shared at this event was awesome. We all learned much to implement into business building that will benefit our clients! I am refreshed by the willingness of our TEAM to learn, grow and change with the times and embrace the new social media avenues!

The very next day we held our monthly F.C.Tucker 1st Team Real Estate Round Table Event locally in the conference room @ Evelyn Bay Coffee Co. in Valpo. This is an event we look forward to montly as everyone brings something of value to the table!

knew to stop without me saying anything further!

One of the great surprises about living in NW Indiana

…is that it has many surprises!

The Anderson Vineyard & Winery is one of them!

Warm memories of years ago come back every time I visit here…..

My dad used to make his own wine in the basement, I remember trips to Vineyards like this, where our family would pick grapes for a few hours (and fill up on them until we got a stomach ache LOL… He had his own Spigot & Barrel ( just like the ones for sale here ) and would even let my younger brother & I have a little taste after the fermentation process was complete…it was our secret – Mom never knew or she’d be mad!!

Now when I visit Anderson’s, I always ask to taste their

most recent releases…they have a wine sampling bar to

help you make your decision, since the variety produced

by their crops is abundant!

Of course there are many other items available for

purchase from home made preserves & jams (pumpkin

butter is in season now) to fresh bakery items and yes fall

apples by the bushel fulls so you can bake to your hearts

content

So If You are looking for something to this weekend come by and sip some home grown VINO and leave with

a basketful of goodies! There is so much to do for children of all ages including wagon rides, Wine cellar tours,

gift-shop with crafts from local artists, farm fresh fruit & more!

With award winning schools and

Scenic Jackson Township is a great place to call home.

Yes that’s right the name Valparaiso translates to Vale Of Paradise !

With Interesting Historical meaning to the name, Valparaiso is located in Porter County, Northwest Indiana, about 50 minutes from Chicago’s Loop !

But For Popcorn Lovers around the country….Valparaiso was once Home Sweet Home of the late famous Orville Redenbacher and

the town’s population will grow with visitors from

all over who will be in town to attend the annual

POPCORN FESTIVAL !!!

Roads around the town square will be filled with arts, & crafts booths, food, music,

& lots of people not to

mention a PARADE and Races also!

The hand painted artistic benches on every corner will be resting spots for those with tired feet

or those who just got stung by the bumble bees that also attend the fest every year!

Valparaiso makes ice cream also- Valpo Velvet Ice Cream Shop at
55 W. Monroe St. (pictured below) is a must stop by & have – our favorite is

Cappuccino-Chocolate Chip- Frozen Yogurt!

Besides the famed popcorn fest, terrific ice cream,

and many fine dining establishments, (some of which

offer outdoor seating in season along the main

street named Linclonway), the City of Valparaiso is also

know for its renouned University !

Valparaiso University has been a top notch private college in town since 1859.

GO V.U. !!! – We love going to the

Crusader Basketball games and plan to BLOG more

on this when the Season starts in November !!

Kelsey’ s Steak House has been a landmark on US Highway 30 in Valparaiso, IN for as long as we can remember… BECAUSE IT HAS THIS HUGE COW ON DISPLAY.

There was a BIG controversy that prompted the

Mayor to even SING to save the Cow!

Yes, HOWIE the COW Remains a Valpo Landmark!
